25 Rampart Street started as an adventure for the owners and the time taken to get every piece right has more than paid off. From the eclectic mix of beautiful antiques and modern furnishings to the dappled indigo/grey swimming pool, this early 19th century English merchant house is a gorgeous example of what can be achieved within Galle Fort. |

One glimpse of the sunset and of the Indian Ocean through the upstairs windows and you’ll know what inspired the owners to purchase it over six years ago. A dining area for 10 and a lounge/library are found on the ground floor. Upstairs you find a large living room overlooking the Fort walls and out towards the Indian Ocean, a view that is absolutely breathtaking and three tastefully decorated air-conditioned double rooms. |

The master bedroom with en suite shares the same beautiful view as the living room; the second bedroom has two double beds the third bedroom is a charming split-level room with a private balcony overlooking the pool and garden. From the rear of the house, the swimming pool and the garden dotted with frangipani trees. |

Outside, a dining pavilion by the pool in the garden is the perfect spot for breakfast or lunch, or to just laze and finish that novel…. a plunge into the 10m pool will provide cool respite from the tropical heat. All in all 25 Rampart St is a divine example of sheer classical beauty and pure modern relaxation combined… |

India - US & Aust - Michael & Elaina , The house met with all our expectations and the broker did not exaggerate - true! Our concern was it being child proof for 18 month and 3 year old – we were told of possible issues/dangers which were all correct and easily manageable. |
