You would be hard pressed to find a ‘get-away-from-it-all’ more perfect than this piece of tropical paradise. Tucked away and lying next to lush green paddy fields that make the countryside of Sri Lanka so stunningly beautiful. The Paddy House has in abundance what all others want and very few have – ‘natural beauty’. If you are looking for ‘four seasons esq’ luxury do not come here, but if you are looking for paradise amidst rustic charm then read on. |

Entering the garden via a small gate from the road you pass the herbs and spices and into the open plan kitchen dining. Floor to ceiling double doors, that fold completely open, to reveal a view like no other across luminescent green paddy. It is breathtaking. The flooring is entirely home made terracotta tiles and the house whilst new, has been built as if it has always been there. A wide terrace allows you to sit on the same level as the rice paddy and you can almost reach out to stroke it. This is where you will probably spend most of the day. Sitting – or lying in the hammock - and watching the bird life dance in and out of the paddy is so wonderful and so relaxing it is hard to describe, and impossible to beat. |

There are 2 ensuite doubles and a further single bed room that shares one of the bathrooms. All the bedrooms have over head fans and floor to ceiling double doors that open fully to reveal the paddy fields and provide a magnificent sight from the comfort of your own bed. In addition to the house there is an ‘island’ of coconut trees and tropical flora. It is connected to the house by a maze of pathways through the paddy and is place to laze with a book and really immerse yourself in uninterrupted bliss and the tropical surroundings. |

The paddy house can accommodate a small family but for this house, to really appreciate it, we suggest -if at all possible - leave the kids, at home. Do not worry about not being on a beach – they are close enough anyway if you want them – or not having a pool – it is much cooler here so you will not mind – just come, relax, recharge and just intoxicate yourself with the fresh air of life. |
