We had a marvellous time at the H H villa. The house is beautiful and exquisetely decorated and conceived, with a great staff in all respects. We enjoyed Sri Lanka and it's laid back atmosphere and pleasant climate. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The house has only two drawbacks that should have been indicated from the start. It is extremely difficult to get into the sea, so you end up with a pool holiday and long walks on a gorgeous beach. The closeness to the road makes it nearly impossible to get a quiet night's sleep, especially in the twin bed room. If you stay a few nights this might be ok but if you stay like us for 14 days it becomes a problem.

Many thanks for this useful review. There are three 'front' double rooms with sea views where the road is not audible but the twin room that is referred to is above the kitchen and yes there is noise. It is for this reason that we recommend this room for children only.
The sea can be rough for sure but it can also be calm although currents can be strong especially for the elderly and very young.
For all guests please be very cautious in SL waters as it is well known for rips and fast currents.

Our stay at HH was perfect. The staff are very friendly and they catered to our every need. The villa is immaculately maintained and very well appointed. The floor plan worked perfectly for our family of 7 with teenagers. I now understand why it is not appropriate for small children because it is separate bungalows. The beach is beautiful and only a few steps from the villa. Although it is too rough for surfing or proper swimming, adults and older kids can wade out a little and jump the waves. HH is perfectly situated near Galle and Weligama where we spent most of our time. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Next year we plan to.

Every time we come back to HH we feel at home! We also enjoy so much seeing the same people working at the house. The food is delicious, the beach stunning and the view makes every moment special. The only problem is that we fell so good at HH we never want to go out.

This was our second time at HH and it did not disappoint. The staff was wonderful as always. We wanted for nothing. There was a new chef this year, even better than the last one. Food was delicious, same as before. For us, the location just can not be beaten. We love being close to Galle Fort and Weligama. The beach here is far superior to others in the area and we really enjoy strolls in the morning and evening. We even braved the waves for some body boarding this year. We will be back no doubt!
