The main house has 3 double bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms and air con. Further beds can be arranged in the sitting room for two more people. The master suite is upstairs and has floor to ceiling doors that open fully to reveal beautiful views across the garden and lake and there is a also a private terrace. There is a tub in the bathroom as well as shower.
In a pavilion that overlooks the pool is housed the living area. An open sided area with dining table and comfortable seating. In addition there is a garden pagola full of cushions with spectacular views across the lake.
Being on a lake you would expect the fish on your plate to be fresh and sure enough local fishermen will bring their catch to the private pontoon. Negotiate on the spot and the cook will prepare lunch or dinner with the fish caught only minutes before. Who would have thought a fishing holiday would be so easy.
The house is actually in the quiet village of Kathaluwe that plays host to the famous Giniwella temple and the ancient Kathaluwa temple known for its Buddhist murals.
Being close to fabulous beaches and a 5 star spa staying at Mandalay allows you the easy option of venturing out to the surf followed by a massage and then retreating to the peace and calm that this fabulous house offers.

We had a fantastic stay at the Mandalay villa - apart from obviously being a beautiful place to stay, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and kept the place running very well throughout our visit. All of us, including our children (7 years, and 10 month old twins) were very happy and comfortable. We will definitely be back!! Thank you.
