Uda Kanda means “Top of the Hill” in Sinhala; and sitting atop this kanda on its three acre site, affords the house stunning panoramic views in all directions over jungle and forest, toward the ocean in the South, and mountains far to the North. The villa is only a few minutes from the historic town of Galle with its World Heritage Fort, sporting an array of shops, restaurants, spas, and an international cricket ground; and, in the other direction, fabulous palm-fringed tropical beaches with warm crystal-clear waters, lie less than 15 minutes away, and stretch further along the coast beyond.  

This is a family home, as opposed to a holiday villa, and is inhabited by the owner for much of the year. As a result, it breathes the life and laughter of family, as well as the family pets, and shares a wonderful ambience with all who stay. It has 3 bedrooms (plus two additional bedrooms in a separate Garden House for an additional charge), all with en suite bathrooms and enjoying beautiful views. 

The villa design is “inside/outside”, making it feel wonderfully spacious; and being on top of the hill, attracts a welcome breeze. It has big airy, high-ceilinged bedrooms, with two king size doubles and a twin. And sometimes in the evening, as the sun goes down, the soothing chants of the monks from the Buddhist temple nearby, just catch the breeze and envelope you in a serene sense of calm. Simply paradise...
