Why House is a perfect tropical garden luxury retreat that can accommodate up to 16 in 8 air con and en suite bedrooms. Located less than 1km from the beach it is a world away from coastal tourism set in its own walled 3 acre gardens overlooking rice paddy fields.   

It can be rented either as a 5 bedroom or all 8. There are 3 suites in the main building that also houses the kitchens and sitting room. Each suite has a private terrace overlooking the gardens and or pool. A further two bedrooms are located in individual cabanas that have attached bathrooms and over look the rice paddy fields. These 5 bedrooms make up the 'main house' and we have quoted rates for these 5. 

The Garden House has 3 bedrooms and can also be rented.

The gardens are well maintained and the dining pavilion is centrally located overlooking the pool. The house, run as a hotel, comes with a chef and stewards and the manager has several contacts for snake charmers; elephant mahouts and a local magician.

What an idyllic place this is: it really epitomizes the best of Sri Lanka. A beautiful house staffed by a delightful team who have gone out of their way to make us feel relaxed and at home.

Once upon a time a story began at Why House. A girl and boy got married got married in a piece of land where all the family and friends were gathered to celebrate. Why House enhanced the experience by adding joy, family sensation, great atmosphere, lovely food and friendly people. Thank you.

Excellent and most welcoming staff in a perfectly well laid out and maintained mansion, close to the very enjoyable attractions of the South of Sri Lanka. Will definitively be a real treat whenever the new highway from Colombo opens in the near future. Would highly recommend to any of my friends> Have already done so. Please keep it that way for my future return.
