About 2 hours north from the airport on the western shores a largely undiscovered and long beach hides the small village of Kalpitiya. The area is being developed by private interests and now boasts a small quirky boutique hotel that has a spectacular pool and the villa we have identifed below.
A lot of hotels and villas aim to brand themselves as a hideaway or an escape but this villa now commands this accolade. The additional draw to Kalpitiya lies in the warm ocean and comes in the form of hundreds of dolphin that jump and dance in the crystal waters amidst the majestic...and massive Blue Whale.

Shhh...this is it. The real escape. I call it the 'other one and only'. Perched in sand dunes on the west coast north of the airport this house offers isloated luxury. Two bedroom suites have ensuite bathrooms and a third bedroom is connected the master. Chef and room lady. The beaches here are heavenly.
