Suriyawatta is a 4 bedroom family home - 2 dbls and 2 twin bedrooms - perched above the ocean about 40 mins from the historic town of Galle on the edge of the bay of Welligama. It is one of those homes that quite frankly once you arrive you never want to leave. The owners have given the house a thorough soaking of their joie de la vie and so, if you have wish to have fun with friends whilst keeping the kids happy then, congratulations because you've stumbled across the perfect house.      

Located a few km from where boats leave to view the astonishing blue whales, as you enter the gates of Suriyawatta you know you are somewhere special. The house is a rectangular shape with the 4 ensuite air con bedrooms at the front - 2 on either side of small inner courtyard. The sitting room with full Sat TV/DVD, surround sound etc has a terrace off the front that leads onto a small lawn with a child's swing in one corner. The kitchen, off the main building, is inviting or can be left as the domain of the chef.

On a lower terrace lies the pool and a few more steps down the garden takes you to the private gate that opens onto a small beach and the lagoon that seasonally offers safe swimming and snorkling. Between mid Dec and early April there is a left hand surf break for experienced surfers. To cool off, but keep moving, there is boules court near the entrance to the villa.  

Having seen quite a few houses on this tropical paradise Suriyawatta still managed to excite all the senses.

An exceptional villa where the attention to detail is surpassed only by the views over the ocean. Salt water pool; surround sound in the garden; cuisine; service; bathrooms; sweet aroma of jasmine; terraced lawns; beach....in all a peaceful fun family holiday. Exactly what we needed! Without question this is one of the best villas.
