A magnificent villa, Maliga Kanda is a 7 bedroom luxury retreat located a few km from the historic southern capital of Galle and tropical palm fringed beaches.

The Chef, who speaks fluent English, is one of the best in the area and has trained and worked in Australia & UK, so prepare for feasting. He is supported by a team of professional staff who have at their heart the desire to make your stay as wonderful as possible.

Perched on a high hill with south westerly views down to the ‘rice paddy cultivated’ valley floor, Lassana Kanda is extremely private. The main house has 4 bedrooms (3 king & 1 double) upstairs, all ensuite and air con. Two of the doubles lead out to a balcony that overlooks the pool and distant tropical canopy. Downstairs there is an open plan sitting and dining area; fully equipped kitchens and an air conditioned study / library as well as guest bathroom.

The sitting area has floor to ceiling timber windows that completely fold back to reveal the 20m pool and covered pagola with dining table and built in sofas. One side of the pool has an infinity edge.

On a lower garden level l is constructed further accommodation and consists of 2 king size suites & a bunk room with 2 beds. The king suites have en suite bathrooms & the bunk has an adjoining one.

Also in this area is the TV & games room with table tennis table. All these rooms look out through french style windows onto a landscaped lawn.  

There is also a Garden House with a fully equipped gym & massage room.

On another level is the hard surface game court offering football, basketball, badminton & soft ball cricket.

The staff was the best ever, and we never saw them as such. We were treated as family and we shared the kitchen as best we could. They gave us an experience we could not have had without them. It goes for all of them as well, from security to the lovely ladies, but most of all to the kitchen and Shaluka and his cooking. We tried to have some meals outside the house in the beginning, but ended up staying in the house for all meals. I would book the property again for the food alone.

We had an amazing stay at Lassana Kanda.
The house is beautiful, the staff is super sweet, friendly and very helpful - and the food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
We were so impressed by Shaluka and his cooking skills, and we really felt spoiled and taking good care of.
The staff was always ready to help us, serve us and made sure that we were doing well.
Even the first night, when the rest of the group was delayed due to their delayed flight - the staff stayed with us the entire evening and made sure that everyone was okay, served us late-night-food and made sure we had a first good evening (even though they had been working for MANY hours that day!). The surroundings are amazing and we could not have asked for a better place to stay while we were in Sri Lanka.
