Exclusive, luxurious, spoiling, fabulous, fantastic, romantic, tranquil, awe inspiring and faultless service..are just some of the adjectives used by guests to describe Pointe Sud. Perched on a cliff top just beyond the beautiful Mirissa beach, Pointe Sud sits comfortably amongst luxury villas of anywhere in the world.

Commanding 180 degree views towards the South Pole the house has been designed and renovated around a galleried sitting area. The garden has been terraced and leads to the long lap pool with its infinity edge. A nearby scuba dive team will come and teach in the pool. Steps lead down to the beach below.

The 5 bedrooms - consisting of 4 doubles and 1 twin - are all air con with ensuite bathrooms and the villa’s staff match its beauty - an excellent chef and 3 stewards. 

At the foot of the cliff steps is a manicured lawn and beach pavilion. The beach itself is a good walking one. Largely deserted and with palm trees hugging the sand. It is not safe for small kids to swim in the sea out of the private beach gate although there is a small rock pool for paddling. A few minutes away by tuk tuk however and you will arrive at the fabulous Mirissa Beach. A perfect half moon shape bay with waves rolling in. Enjoyed by a few people who know of it there are one or two beach bars and restaurants along this beach.

You will appreciate that we have seen a fair number of villas and whilst all frankly are fabulous, there are a handful that stand out. Pointe Sud is one of a very few that sits comfortably with the luxury villas of the world. No adjective can do it justice.

Our stay at pointe sud was fantastic, hidden away off the main road. On a huge plot of land running right down to the beach. Accommodation was tastefully done in the old colonial style and very comfortable and relaxing. Chef preparation of food was first rate and the team there was very attentive and we wanted for nothing

Pointe Sud is an excellent palce to get away from the crowd. The staff (all 9 of them)are charming and, although it was only built about 20 years ago, many reclaimed materials were used by the architect giving it a grand colonial style.

The chef was great in sourcing local food and educating us in Sri Lankan cuisene, even letting us into the kichen to learn.

The views of the rising and setting sun over the ocean are stunning, the pool is great and you almost don't need to leave the villa. However, the tea plantations and temples are well worth a visit and you hardly need to leave your bedroom to appreciate the jungle wildlife.
