Skye House

We had a wonderful stay at Skye House, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the views and sounds of the sea and sky are spectacular, and we were well looked after by the housekeeping and the grounds staff, who fed us very well with a wonderful range of Sri Lankan food.

The house was amazing, the views were out of this world, location fantastic, but best of all, no doubt, was the staff. We were looked after, pampered and felt trully cared for. We were travelling with two babies and EVERYBODY (including watchman!) went out of their way and displayed such heart-warming love and tenderness with them that leaving Skye House was indeed a hard thing to do!
Can't wait to go back soon!!!

What a fantastic property - amazing location with one gate to the beach, great layout and facilities and well maintained. Janaka and the team provided excellent service and the food was amazing.

Skye House is the perfect place for a family holiday (or 2 families sharing). Beautiful house and setting, lots of great staff, lovely food cooked by Sanjay and plenty of things to do with the kids which are relatively close by, reachable by foot or in Janaka's tuc tuc (turtle sanctuary next door, tea plantation/factory, the Dutch orphanage, galle town with all the history and the gem shops, lovely beaches with great little restaurants, etc). All the staff were instrumental in making sure that our little ones did not get into trouble. Staying in a villa with privacy and superb help is a perfect formula for a kid friendly holiday and we should never stay in a hotel again after this experience!

We've just returned from a fantastic holiday at Skye House. Best villa we've ever stayed in - plenty of room for the 14 of us. Best beach we've ever visited - no one else was ever on it so no hawkers. Janaka and his staff were so helpful and friendly - barbecues on the beach and even gave us a Sri Lankan New Year's Day party with traditional games! Good location for visiting Galle Fort - drinks in the Galle Fort Hotel highly recommended.

The house was perfect for our two families, Jack organised a nanny for our stay which was perfect for the little ones (there were 6 children ranging from 2 to 12). Janaka helped us organise incredible trips: picnics on the beach at Jungle Beach, buggy boarding, snorkelling, tea planatations etc…Nothing really was too much trouble.Thank you all so much and we'll certainly be back!

We just spent a blissful week at Skye House. A wonderful, quiet setting but still feels part of the the day to day of life in Sri Lanka. Janaka and his staff were excellent and just extremely gracious and loving. My son will miss the daily cricket matches on the lawn! Staff were there when you needed them, and weren't when you wanted to be left alone. Food delicious and house is lovely - huge and open and a great layout so everyone has their own space. Definitely would return.

plumbing in a couple of bathrooms was a little delicate and broke often, howevre the staff got it repaired in a flash.

We have had a incredible an amazing stay in villa Skye house. A special mention for the really friendly staff of Janaka's team that makes our week in the house like a dream holiday (jungle trip, night party, visits, perfect meals…). The meals were just delicious and the housekeeping really good! We felt so comfortable and relax… Thanks to all of you again and for this great hospitality. BRAVO pour leur hospitalité et leur sens du service!

We recently returned from spending 4 glorious days at Skye House. Janaka and the team at the villa are fantastic (including the three dogs!), always attentive and willing to go the extra mile. The villa itself is in a great location and is a perfect villa for sharing with friends or family. The indoor/ outdoor nature of the villa makes for many lazy days! In fact most days the furthest we ventured was just past the gates to the white sand beach for a daily swim in the sea!

It was our second stay and we enjoyed in immensely! We are already hoping for a third!

we had the most wonderful time there. the house is amazing and super spacious. the food was super delicious. we have only good things to say about the house, the staff, and fabulous sri lanka.

Wow! What a wonderful experience! The villa and the staff were awesome. Janaka and his team made sure that we never wanted for anything and organised our onward trip through Sri Lanka. Sanjay the chef cooked the best food we tasted in Sri Lanka. When the new freeway opens, access to this villa will be much quicker.

We thought Skye House would be special after seeing the photos, but when we arrived the villa blew us away! Aside from the fantastic facilities and idylic location, the staff were extremely firendly and attentive which made for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I will definitely be returning at some point in the future.

Two families, four nights….one superb time! The house is beautiful, the beach sensational and the staff and food excellent. We will be back.

The Skye house was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

However I would like to bring to your notice..we were occupying the ground floor front facing
room. The bathroom definitely needs renovation.
The flush didn't run properly and neither did the drainage in the shower area.
When it rained there was water dripping through the roof.

The chef was excellent and we enjoyed all our meals thoroughly.
We would definitely like to visit again !

Wonderful beachfront villa with a really fabulous staff. All of us were well-looked after for the duration of our stay, and I highly recommend Skye House for all occasions.

Perfect. House beautiful, service is top , food as we like..We could have expected better.

There are not enough positive adjective to describe Skye House. Our party of three family had a wonderful 5 day holiday. The staff were amazing, from organizing a 9 yr olds bday party including beach fireworks and elephant rides in the garden to happily washing all our wet dirty clothes from our camping safari….and that was just the first day!
Nothing was ever a trouble for the staff and the little thoughtful extras like cocktails served on the beach at sunset or driving the mums in the tuk tuk to buy jewelry (numerous time) was great. The kids still talk about catching waves on the boogie boards and crickets matches in the garden where the guard would magically appear to be the wicket keeper.
The quality and variety of the food served by the chef blew our minds and there was always much excitement when the meals arrived. There was a lot of talent in the kitchen.
Skye House will always hold many happy memories for us and we hope to return soon.

We stayed at Skye Villa just over a week ago with 3 other couples and wanted you to know how fantastic it was. Brilliant spot. Lovely villa. But, more importantly, just the most sensational service. The "staff" could not be faulted. So friendly and helpful. Amazing food. Nothing was too much trouble. Seems wrong to single out people as they were all great but the chef, Sanjay, was absolutely brilliant and Jaya was a delight to have helping us. Thanks, again for marvellous 3 days at wonderful villa.

When we arrived we were concerned that the villa was so close to the main road. However once the gates were closed we were in a different world!

The villa was ideal for our large family and whilst being a little tired in places was well set out and helped make our vacation. The setting was fantastic with the ocean and beach literally at our back door!
Without doubt the major factor contributing to our wonderful vacation was the the staff of Skye House who to a person were EXCELLENT, very attentive and always smiling! They looked after us superbly and were very good with the babies.

Only comment I would make would be regarding gratuities for the staff. Had no real indicator as to what was an appropriate gratuity and how it should be distributed. Having never visited your country before we were uncertain as to the correct protocol in this regard and I hope our subsequent distribution was well received?

All in all a super holiday and we would have no hesitation in recommending the site and returning in the future.

Janaka, Samantha and the whole team were outstanding and I am hard to please!!! Janaka was full of efficient energy: Sam cooked everything to perfection: all the team looked after us all very well and were particularly kind and good with my five grandchildren. The house was kept immaculately.

I hope that they were pleased with their tip because they deserved every rupee.

As I said in the Guest Book we will return, but with better cricketers. We were out classed by The SKYE HOUSE team!!!

We have stayed in many villas between Galle and Mirissa since 2010, mostly more than once a year. It is our second time back to the Skye House. We would have loved to come back earlier but the villa was often fully booked during the school holidays. Finally, we were lucky enough to get it confirmed for Chinese New Year 2018. We were very excited about returning to the Skye House as we had very fond memories and were curious at the same time whether the villa/team had changed since our last visit 6 years ago. Many things have changed in Sri Lanka over the last few years but not the Skye House. The house is equally beautiful and well maintained, the beach equally stunning (still very quiet with wonderful waves for body surfing with the kids) and the staff at the villa is outstanding. Always with a smile, communicative with initiative and very attentive and present. We always felt very welcomed and nothing was too much for them. We got spoilt with amazing curries, BBQs, local breakfasts and tea times with homemade cakes and brownies. The only downside was that there were a lot of mosquitos in the living room at night but we have feedbacked it to the team and the point has been addressed. A big thank you to Udeshika (Eden Villas office) and the team on site with Janaka, Samantha, Dyan and the rest of the crew.

We had a brilliant time at the Skye House for the October half term. We were a family with three young children, 2 uncles and grandparents and we loved every minute. The house is a lovely colonial style villa on a pristine beach with plenty of space, a play ground and swings and a great games room. The garden is lovely for the children to run around and releasing the baby turtles at the sanctuary next door was great. Janaka the villa manager looked after us so well with his great team, they organised Tuk Tuks, transfers and excursions for us and Sam the Chef prepared delicious meals and gave us s cooking class. The house is well located between Galle and Welligama. We will definitely be back

We rented out this place to have our wedding. The wedding was meant to be a beach side garden party for 100 guests and the pictures I saw online seemed promising. Little did I know, the pictures do not do the place justice. The place is stunning with plenty of seating areas with grand bedrooms all with built in en-suites. Plenty of nice areas to chill. Our favourite spots in the house is in the pool or on the upper floor balcony overlooking the ocean. I regretted instantly not choosing to stay there longer. More than the place itself, what truly made our stay were the wonderful staff who not only tended to our every needs but also went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Their in-house chef catered to our every needs and cooked whatever we felt like (At one point we wanted pasta and he happily obliged. It was delicious). But most of all to Janaka who is just the most wonderful host. Anything we needed was there in a heartbeat. Need a run to the ATM? He actually went and personally took me to one. Air-con broke down? He'll have a new one installed in the next couple of hours. Absolutely a delight to have a conversation with too. The wedding itself was stunning and felt like a fairytale. I can only pray that one day we will get the chance to come back. The only downside of our stay was how sad I was to leave. Highly recommend.

Have just got back from the Skye House after spending 3 weeks in Sri Lanka ( 2 at the Skye house) and one week travelling. It was an amazing place 4 double bedrooms huge! and a room for 6 kids with bunks all with air co and bathrooms. The villa was really beautiful, there were 10 of us ( 2 families) and we had about 9 staff looking after us ( 2 maids, a chef, 3 waiters and 2 security men as well as Janaka the man in charge of the team he was absolutely brilliant!!!!!! We organised through Eden villas and also had a live in nanny during our stay ( extra cost but not expensive and really worth it with little children) Jack Eden was great and the organisation via Eden villas perfect. I can highly recommend this place and would return at the drop of a hat. The pool and garden was right on the beach literally 2 minutes, noone but us went there and the food was incredible. If you haven't already booked then I would recommend you go for this place. VF

We stayed here over New Year and had the most wonderful time. Staff were incredible, the location is stunning and all the children (aged between 2 and 10 years old) were in heaven.
