The Garden House
Details
This two bedroom countryside retreat has been restored with a laid back village life style in mind. The extensive dry stone walls greet you as you meander across the garden past pineapple, mango, mangosteen, avocado, rambutan, jack and many other fruit trees to the clay tile steps at the front of this 100 year old house.
This house is all about the views across the paddy fields and everywhere takes advantage of them. Whether from the raised lawn, the large terrace with day bed and dining table or once inside with wooden shutters that fold all the way back in the kitchen and the sitting room. The round pool is slightly hidden from the house on a lower level and there is a deck facing the rice paddy. Bird life is as varied as it is teeming.
In addition to the open plan kitchen and sitting area there is one air conditioned bedroom with a king size javanese bed with an adjoining study / dressing room that has twin beds for children and there is one bathroom.

We stayed 2 short days and had a fantastic stay. We wish we would have spent more time at this place as this was clearly the best one during our long holidays in Sri Lanka.
The house is beautifully designed (you really feel home), the location is perfect as the surroundings are very quiet and you remain not far from beaches, Etc.
