I was immediately taken by the calm and serenity of this all teak house. In a world of concrete the house is a relief. It is nestled on a hilltop in the midst of a lush, tropical garden and immaculately kept coconut plantation. I have to agree with the owners that this beach cabin is one of Sri Lanka’s South Coast’s most romantic and serene villa hideaways.

From its elevated position overlooking Seenimodera beach - renowned as one of the Sri Lanka’s most picturesque and unspoilt sandy beaches -the villa’s bedrooms and open plan living benefit from the constant breezes coming from the Indian Ocean below. The cabin is hidden from view and constructed entirely of teak - one of Sri Lanka’s sustainable hardwoods - is relaxed and incredibly comfortable.

Whilst tempting to do little other than swing in a hammock, lounge on a sun chair or float around in the pool, this is ideally placed to explore Tangalle’s wild stretch of coastline and visit a selection of wildlife parks, historical towns and temples.

My Wife and I stayed in the Teak House for 5 nights in December 2012 and we had the best time ever!!!
The House is even prettier than the pictures we saw online. Clean, Spacious and very quiet. It is a 2 mins walk to a beautiful and quiet Beach. Roshan and his brother Ruanne made the experience even better. Roshan cooked amazing dishes to us all week and even made a huge Birthday cake for me… Ruanne took us in his Tuk Tuk to some beautiful places around town, places we would have never found or heard about on our own. We will definitely come back next Year and will recommend this house to our friends.

What a wonderful week we have just spent at The Teak House. We feel fully rested and refreshed. We have been very ably looked after by Roshan, Ruane and Kusum who make a fabulous team: Roushan's cooking is second to none; Ruane has made himself and his tuk-tuk completely at our disposal and Kusum has made the place comfortable and clean at all times. We have enjoyed the pool, beach, and various local attractions. It has very much been a home from home and we can thoroughly recommend it to others.
