Coconut Grove

Excellent location, paradise place, beautiful house and probably the best was the help: nice and competent.

We spent some glorious days there. Too few, unfortunately. It was so pleasant that we actually stayed in the house and by the pool much more than expected.

We had a fantastic 4 night stay at Coconut Grove, the villa was fantastic. The facilities were great, beautiful pool and garden. We were taken care of very well by Kumudu and Sharath, Kumudu's cooking was so good and she was very helpful with our two small children. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and we have already recommended the villa and your website to our friends.

Definately 5 star. We had a fabulous holiday at Coconut Grove, a stunning villa beautifully decorated and furnished, and we were well looked after by Sarath and Kumudu whose wonderful curries we are definately missing now we are back home. I can't think of anything that would improve Coconut Grove Kumudu even helped us find a driver of a van (Sarath) who drove us around over our weeks stay. We would definately like to return and recommend Coconut Grove highly.

Villa was nice but thought the layout wasn't too good…..better if outside diding was not so tucked away and overlooked pool or something. Staff were helpful but it was confusing when trying to book taxis, tuk tuk and massages as they gave us quotes that were too high and wrong information (i.e. we couldn't get a massage in the villa….which we could and did). Mosquitos were a real nightmare especially with a little one.

We had a fabulous time at Coconut Grove Villa. The house, gardens and pool area were beautiful and Kumudu and staff could not do enough for us. Of course Kumudu`s cooking was brilliant and we loved every meal. We will definately return. rating 5

I stayed at the CG for 6 nights with a group including young children. We were very pleased with the villa, the overall standard, the location. The staff was excellent.

Moving in from busy and noisy Colombo we really enjoyed the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the villa. Garden and pool are so well kept one doesn't want to leave the house. Most enjoyable was Kumudus and Thanujas cooking - that alone makes us want to come back.

The house was faultless. Clean, well maintained, spacious and in a great location. Komudu, the house lady, is the most wonderful cook and so attentive, preparing wonderful breakfasts and dinners so economically and on time. It was as much a pleasure to eat in as to eat out. The gardens are wonderful, carefully maintained with an abundance of wildlife in the trees above.
Her son is a keen cricketer and good company if you have young children. Overall the house is the perfect size for four adults and four children, ie. two families as was our case.
There was just one issue and that concerned the pool. The area around the pool, sun loungers and raised lounging area with cushions, was perfect for pre-breakfast coffee and evening relaxation before dinner. However, the tiles around the edge of the pool and on the steps were all chipped leaving sharp edges that did cut feet and hands, to the point of having to wear socks. If this was remedied the house would score the perfect five stars.

Dear John, Many thanks for the review and for bringing the pool tiles to our attention. It is not often easy to appreciate there are sharp edges until you get cut so I am really sorry this happened.
